Elk Lifescape metal print by Steve Spencer. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Artist's Description
I found the skull and antlers of this bull in the remnants of an avalanche. Both antlers were broken apart and the skull was seperated into thirds. A testament to the violence of the avalanche. Years later, I used the reconstructed skull as my model for a tribute to a portion of the life story that pivots around any bull elk; birth, nurturing, the summer of life, and the urge to procreate and insure the immortality of his genetics inspite of the coming decline and death of a great animal. The cycle finds completion through the years of life, and even though it has an end; something profound lives on.
